Our Veterans’ Day service project this year was to raise money for Wreaths Across America. This organization places wreaths on the graves of veterans across the country. We were extremely honored to help the Beulah Cemetery in Ramey honor all 165 veterans buried there. One of our fifth-grade students, Dehlia Elbe, rode along with her dad as a driver for WAA. She met Morrill and Karen Worcester, the founders of WAA at a reception in Maine. Dehlia gave them an SFS t-shirt and told them the story of our school’s project. This impressed the Worcesters so much that they asked Dehlia to have the great honor of placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. We are so happy to have been a part of WAA this year and plan to continue this project in the future.
